Welcome to my website. and company Letter of Credit Solutions.com. I’m pleased to introduce myself and share a little about my semi-serious title, The LC Whisperer. A well known and close friend, her career expanding a full life in Global Trade as a Banker, was our appointed Queen of LC’s Madeline Sprague and she bowed down to only one, her long time Banking friend, titled by Her Highness: Geraldine Gurley as the LC Guru, specializing in Stand By LC’s. Madeline and I, spent many years doing classes together teaching Documentary Letters of Credit to Exporters, Traders and Freight Forwarders and at time, even Bankers. My specialty, being from the Global Logistics side, and my career having always been as a Freight Forwarder in Client Development and Management, Documents were key in all aspects. The main descriptor given in the name itself, Documentary Letters of Credit, demands the ability to commit to the LC requirements and the stringent Document expectations the LC makes clear. That clarity however, is not evident to everyone. The ability to understand the Letter of Credit, the governing UCP and ISBP and the ability to listen to what the Letter of Credit is saying and expects of you is my strength and speaks to me, so when my LC Royalty dubbed me the reigning LC Whisperer, I happily received that honor. We have to enjoy what we do and laugh, as we deal with the amazing experiences we have on a daily basis with Letters of Credit and Global Logistics, otherwise the regular crises and scars we bear would be for naught. My first job at 17 was formally-the receptionist- at a small Freight Forwarder and within 10 minutes after learning the phone system, I was given a Letter of Credit to India. After that, the rest as they say, is History. So while taking our responsibilities seriously, we enjoy our well-earned, fun titles with honor. :-)
